About the event

INTERNATIONAL
ART FESTIVAL

The Karnolsky International Summer Camp Competition returns for its fourth edition, which will take place from 16 to 21 August 2023 in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria.

The competition, organized by the Karnolsky ART Center and under the patronage of Ms. Yanka Takeva – President of the Bulgarian Teachers’ Syndicate, will feature talented children and young people from over 12 countries who will compete in four categories: vocal, dance, instrumental and folklore.

Participants aged 4 to 35 can compete in a variety of genres, including classical ballet, contemporary dance, character dance, sports dance, acro dance, pop, jazz, rock, evergreen, children’s song, and more. Cheerleaders, brass bands, and choirs will also have their own categories.

The international jury of the Karnolsky Summer Camp will consist of Bulgarian and foreign art professionals, including vocal pedagogues, music producers, choreographers, and conductors.

Special guests at the gala concert will be popular Bulgarian performers, and the award ceremony will take place on August 18 at the Ancient Theatre in the Old Town of Nessebar at 7 pm.

In addition to the competition, art workshops and individual masterclasses will be held to give participants the opportunity to further develop their skills.

The Karnolsky Summer Camp aims to provide a platform for young talents to showcase their abilities and enhance their artistic development.

Registration

Young talents between the ages of 4 and 35 can take part in the competition in the following genres:

Dance

classical ballet, contemporary (modern, jazz, musical), stylized dance, dance show (break, hip hop, urban street, MTV, K – pop, Acro), sport dances (Latin, standard) (soloists and groups).

Vocal

pop, musical, jazz and evergreen, rock (soloists and groups).

Folklore

vocal (soloists and groups); instrumentalists (soloists and groups); dance (soloists and groups).

Majorettes

(baton and pompon).

Brass, symphonic, percussion orchestras

children, youth, and students.

Choirs

children, youth, and students (min. 12 people).

Age groups

I- st age group – up to 7 years old
II- nd age group – from 8 to 10 years old
III- th age group – from 11 to 13 years old
IV- th age group – from 14 to 18 years old
V- th age group – from 19 to 35 years old

ORCHESTRAS AND CHOIRS:

I – st age group – up to 14 years old
II-nd age group – up to 20 years old
III-rd age group – over 21 years old

DEADLINE – 30.05.2023

after this date applications will be accepted only at the discretion of the organizers.

THE REGISTRATION for participation in the festival MUST INCLUDE:

Correctly filled out the application form and a signed declaration in which they grant the rights to the AUDIO and VIDEO recordings for the aims of the festival.
Detailed list with the names and dates of birth of the participants and the accompanying persons.

The organizers reserve the right to suspend registration in a given group even before this date if the capacity is full.

All materialshave to be sent to the following e-mail: karnolsky@gmail.com до 20.07.2023г. No changes will be made during the festival. If the soloists have additional voices on the recording, they are not allowed to repeat the main melody.
Online entry – video of each performance must be emailed to karnolsky@gmail.com до 20.07.2023г.

* Jury members and organizers reserve the right to decide which participants will participate in the GALA concert.

Registration rules for participation

Duration of performances:

up to 3:30 minutes each for the vocal formations and soloists
up to 4:00 minutes for the rest (dance, folklore)

*In case of the performances, exceed the up-mentioned duration, the Jury will cease the performance

Advance payment – 50% of the total sum, to be paid by 30.05.2023

JURY

The evaluation is made by a three- or five-member jury – specialists in the respective style. The judges evaluate on a point system, with the highest score determining the winner in the group. The jury will determine which winners, who ranked first, will be entitled to participate free of charge in art laboratories, which are held after the competition, to create a production that unites all genres of the competition.

THE ACCOMMODATION FEE IS FOR ONE PERSON AND INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

Accommodation* two-room, three-room, four-room rooms; in family rooms with a total of 5 beds (two connected rooms). All rooms have standard beds, wardrobes, air conditioning, a refrigerator, balcony.
Hotel Kokiche – Sunny Beach Feeding FB (breakfast, lunch, dinner) – studios (3, 4 or 5 persons); 2 room apartments (3+2 – 5 persons); big apartments (3+3/4 or 2/3+4 – 6-7 persons); big apartments and marionettes (4+4/3+5/2+2+5 – 8-9 persons). In apartments: TV, fridge, air-conditioning, private bathroom/s.
Hotel Mercury – Sunny Beach Ultra All Inclusive
Use of indoor pool and sunbeds.
Animation – entertainment, sports, academic programs, discos.

* Participants and companions who do not make their reservation through ART CENTER KARNOLSKY pay a festival pass of EUR 65 per person, which provides access to the entire competition program and scenes. A deposit of 15 euros is charged for each guest. In case of material damage to the property of the camp (in the rooms or on the territory), the cost of damage is charged from the deposit. In the absence of damage or loss, the deposit is returned before departure.

EXTRA PAYMENTS

Only for “Kokiche” hotel:

Extra night: 26 EURO for children up to 16 years, 30 EURO for adults per person per day;
Extra payment for single room: 24 EURO per room per day;
Extra payment for double room: 14 EURO per room per day; Entrance Gala Concert and Transport to/from scenes : 10 EURO per person
A group of over 20 persons – the 21st person /the leader/ will be accommodated for free in a double room for the period of the Festival. Children who had turned 16 years before the Festival /born before 16.08.2007/, are considered adults.

ATTENTION! The advance payment of 30% of the amount serves as a reservation in the hotels and it is not refundable in case the participant fails to come to the festival due to circumstances beyond the organizers’ control. *After 20.06.2023 the payment will not be refunded. *The program of the contest will be published on the 1st of August.

August 21, 2023 – Art labs and departure

The competition and seminars will be held:

The organizers reserve the right to any kind of documentation, broadcasting, filming and distribution of the material, without paying rights and compensations.
The leaders of the groups are responsible for accidents and injuries of performers on stage.
The expenses for the stay of the groups and the persons accompanying them with travel, daily and overnight stays shall be at the expense of the participants.
The costs of the prize fund, technical and stage provision, as well as the provision of medical assistance, are borne by the organizers.
Group leaders are responsible for the behavior of performers from their teams during the event.
Participants are responsible for their costumes, props, tools and personal belongings.
The music of the choreographies and instrumentals must be uploaded in advance through our online registration platform. We recommend that you carry a backup of your music to flash memory.
